jadeite — 翡翠

Jadeite is a pyroxene mineral (NaAlSi₂O₆) — one of two stones properly called jade.

We work only with Type A material: jadeite that has been shaped and polished, nothing more. Where any surface treatment or filling exists on a piece, we say so on its spec sheet in the same words a lab report would use.

Colour is read in three axes: hue, saturation, distribution.

We describe colour under a D65 daylight-equivalent source, at the same distance and angle we photograph. Uneven distribution — colour roots, drifting bands, patches of white — is a feature of natural stone, not a defect, and is shown as-is in the images.

色相由三条轴读出：色调、饱和度、分布。

颜色描述在 D65 日光光源下完成，距离与角度与拍摄一致。色根、色带、白棉这些分布不均匀之处，是天然形成的痕迹，我们直接呈现，不作修饰。

Texture — 种 — is the fineness of the interlocking crystal grain.

Grades run from glass (玻璃种) and icy (冰种) through fine (糯种) to coarser material. Finer grain transmits more light and returns a cleaner lustre; it is not the only measure of quality, but it is the most measurable one, and it is stated on every jadeite spec sheet.

种，是晶粒交织的细腻程度。

由玻璃种、冰种，至糯种、粗糠，颗粒逐级变粗。种越细，透光越好，光泽越干净。种并非唯一的评价标准，却是最可衡量的一项，因此每件翡翠的规格表都会写明。

Translucency is measured against a controlled light path, not held to the sun.

Ratings on our site — opaque, semi-translucent, translucent, semi-transparent — refer to a 3 mm section measured against a diffused backlight. The video on each product page shows the piece under both reflected and transmitted light, so translucency can be judged by eye as well as by label.

透明度须在稳定光路下读取，不以随手对光为准。

本站所用的透明度分级——不透明、微透、半透、亚透——以 3 毫米厚度在均匀背光下读取。每件作品的视频均同时呈现反射光与透射光下的状态，透明度可依视觉与文字互相印证。
